Charter trips to the Gulfstream to Scatter Ashes at Sea
This funeral choice is a private charter for just you and your group. The boat you charter will depend on how many persons in your group. Most boats can carry a maximum of 6 persons, but we do have a large boat option for groups of 7 or more persons. The Gulfstream comes closer to Fort Lauderdale, Florida than anywhere on the east coast. This makes it the best location to do a funeral at sea. A beautiful way to say goodbye to your loved one is to scatter their ashes into the sea, their dust carried along in the ocean's currents for the rest of time. We have several boats in our fleet that are available for private burial at sea charters. We have varying size vessels that can accommodate groups from 1-100 persons. On a burial at sea charter, we go out the Gulfstream waters off Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Your group will gather in the back of the boat to say your final goodbyes, prayers or whatever is your custom. You will scatter your loved one's ashes into the ocean. Our deckhand can assist if needed.
Groups of 6 or less persons $475
Our 46ft Hatteras is the perfect vessel for groups of 6 or less persons. The boat is very comfortable with an inside salon cabin with lounge seating. The flybridge is where the captain drives and there is ample bench seating on the upper deck if you like to ride upstairs with the captain in the seabreeze. When it comes time to do scatter the ashes, the group will gather in the back area of the boat where there is plenty of room for all to gather and see. If you have brought flowers, this is the time to release them into the water. When the group is ready to head back, give the captain the word and we usually do our nautical send off with 3 circles around the flower field and the drive back towards port. Book Now |
Groups of 7+ aboard the Mary B III $775
The Mary B III is our 55ft large party boat for taking charters of more than 6 persons. The Mary B III has bench seating around the entire outside deck. She has a spacious inside cabin with dinette tables. The dinette tables inside the cabin are ideal for any food or snacks. Another nice idea is to bring a picture of the deceased, you can set it up on the dinette table inside the cabin. There is a large gathering area in the back of the boat where everyone can gather to do the scattering of ashes. Although the Mary B III is is licensed to carry as many as 50 passengers. We also have one vessel, larger than the Mary B III, which can accommodate very large parties of up to 60 or even 100 people. Book Now |
This trip typically goes out from 5:30pm-7:30pm. This time of day is nice because the ocean usually lays down to its calmest point and the sun low in the sky makes for a nice time of day to do this trip. Other times are available upon request.
INCLUDES: A typical scattering of ashes at sea takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. If your services run long, you have use of the boat for a maximum of 2 hours. A Captain and Deckhand will be aboard the boat to assist and be at your service.
DOES NOT INCLUDE: These prices do not include food/drinks. Charters may bring their own food/drinks for the trip. We provide coolers and ice for you to keep your food items cold. Catering can be provided at an additional cost if requested. Tipping the crew is complimentary and not included in the price.
